Are you wondering how to create an effective vision board to keep you focused and help you achieve your career and personal growth goals? Don’t worry, you’re at the right place! A vision board is a powerful tool that has helped many people, including myself, stay motivated and committed to their dreams.

In this blog, I’ll guide you through creating an effective vision board, but first, let’s understand what personal growth and a vision board really mean.

What Is Personal Growth?

Vision Board Personal Growth

Personal growth is the continuous process of working towards achieving your goals in different areas of life, such as career, finances, health, relationships, and self-improvement. It helps you become more self-conscious, self-aware, and intentional about your daily routine.

Personal growth ensures that you’re always progressing and making meaningful changes in these areas. It helps individuals become more self-aware and intentional about their daily routines and long-term goals.

To achieve this, you need a clear vision and a structured plan. This is where a vision board comes in.

What Is a Vision Board?

Vision Board Personal Growth

A vision board is a collection of images, words, and affirmations that represent the goals you want to achieve. It serves as a daily reminder of your dreams and keeps you inspired to take action. Your vision board can include

  • Pictures of career milestones, dream job positions, or business aspirations
  • Motivational quotes and affirmations
  • Images of financial goals like savings or investments
  • Health and wellness reminders
  • Education and skill development plans

A well-structured vision board acts as a roadmap, guiding you towards your success.

Steps to Create an Effective Vision Board for Career Success and Personal Growth

Now, here are some steps to help you create an effective vision board for career success and personal growth.

1. Define Your Goals

Before creating your vision board, take time to reflect on what you truly want to achieve. Ask yourself:

  • What are my career aspirations?
  • What personal growth areas do I want to improve?
  • What kind of lifestyle do I envision for myself?

Write down your goals to give your vision board a clear direction.

2. Gather Your Materials

Decide whether you want to create a physical or digital vision board.

  • For a physical board, you’ll need a poster board, magazines, scissors, glue, markers, and stickers.
  • For a digital board, you can use platforms like Pinterest, Canva, or Google Slides.

3. Select Images and Words That Inspire You

Choose visuals that align with your goals. Your vision board should include:

  • Photos of people or situations that represent success to you
  • Words like “growth,” “success,” “financial freedom,” and “happiness”
  • Affirmations that reinforce a positive mindset

4. Organize Your Vision Board

Arrange your images and quotes in a way that resonates with you. You can categorize them into sections such as:

  • Career Growth: Promotions, dream job, skills to learn
  • Financial Goals: Savings, investments, business growth
  • Health and Wellness: Exercise routines, mental well-being
  • Personal Development: Books to read, new skills to master

5. Place Your Vision Board Where You Can See It

Visibility is key! Place your vision board where you will see it daily, such as:

  • On your bedroom or office wall
  • As a screensaver on your phone or computer
  • Inside your journal or planner

6. Give Little Beginnings a Chance

Success starts with small steps. Celebrate every milestone along the way, whether it’s completing a course, getting a new job, or saving a small amount of money. These small achievements will keep you motivated to push further.

7. Take Action and Stay Consistent

A vision board alone won’t bring success; you need to take action. Set deadlines, track your progress, and stay committed to your goals. Consistency is the key to making your vision a reality.

Fashion Tips for Mompreneurs Balancing Work and Life

Being a mompreneur means juggling work meetings, school drop-offs, and family time. At the same time, you want to look and feel your best. Finding a balance between professional attire and comfortable, practical outfits can be challenging. However, the right fashion choices can make your life easier. A well-thought-out wardrobe saves time and boosts confidence, helping you transition seamlessly between roles.

Dressing with intention allows you to stay polished without sacrificing comfort.

Here are some fashion tips to help you stay stylish while managing your busy schedule.

1. Build a Capsule Wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe saves time and stress by offering versatile, mix-and-match pieces. Invest in neutral blazers, classic jeans, comfortable dresses, and timeless footwear that transition seamlessly from work meetings to school pick-ups.

Sticking to a neutral colour palette with a few statement pieces allows you to create multiple outfits effortlessly. Choose high-quality fabrics that maintain their shape and style throughout the day, ensuring you look polished without frequent outfit changes.

A well-curated wardrobe also simplifies decision-making, reducing the time spent choosing what to wear each morning. By focusing on pieces that complement each other, you eliminate clutter while making dressing a seamless and enjoyable part of your routine.

2. Choose Comfort Without Sacrificing Style

Prioritize breathable, stretchy fabrics that keep you comfortable while looking polished. Wrinkle-resistant materials and relaxed fits keep you moving freely, keeping you ready for Zoom calls and errands. Dressing style does not mean compromising on ease.

Opt for clothing that feels as good as it looks, with soft, high-quality fabrics that offer flexibility while maintaining a refined appearance. Well-tailored outfits boost confidence and ease the shift from work to family time. Details matter when improving your wardrobe.

Structured blazers, well-fitted tops, and elegant accessories elevate any outfit. Keeping your garments in top shape is equally important, and using luxury clothes hangers ensures your wardrobe stays organized, wrinkle-free, and always ready for your busy day.

3. Master Effortless Layering

Layering is the ultimate styling hack for busy moms. A structured blazer instantly upgrades any outfit, lightweight cardigans offer warmth without bulk, and chic scarves add personality while serving a functional purpose. Choosing the proper layers allows you to adapt to different settings with ease.

A well-fitted jacket can make casual attire look professional, while a stylish wrap or kimono adds a polished touch without effort. Prioritizing versatile, breathable fabrics ensures comfort throughout the day, no matter where your schedule takes you.

4. Keep Accessories Minimal Yet Functional

Busy schedules don’t allow time for fussy accessories, so opt for simple yet stylish pieces. A structured tote bag can hold work essentials and kid supplies, while minimalist jewelry adds elegance without the hassle. Selecting accessories that blend function with fashion makes daily life easier.

A classic wristwatch keeps you on schedule, while a sleek belt can pull an outfit together effortlessly. Small, versatile pieces like stud earrings or a delicate necklace add polish without distraction. Quality matters as much as style.

Investing in durable, well-crafted accessories ensures longevity and reduces the need for constant replacements. A timeless leather bag or well-made sunglasses can complement multiple outfits, keeping you looking put together without extra effort.

5. Stick to Easy, Low-Maintenance Hairstyles

A polished look doesn’t require hours of styling. Sleek ponytails, messy buns, and headbands create an effortless look in minutes, while dry shampoo keeps hair fresh between washes. Choosing the right haircut can also make styling easier.

A well-layered cut adds natural volume, while a shoulder-length or bob style reduces the need for constant upkeep. Keeping haircare simple with nourishing products and minimal heat styling helps maintain healthy, manageable hair without extra effort.

6. Invest in Quality, Not Quantity

Instead of filling your wardrobe with trendy items that quickly go out of style, focus on well-made essentials. Durable fabrics, timeless silhouettes, and neutral tones ensure that your outfits stay stylish and practical season after season.

High-quality clothing lasts longer and provides better comfort and fit. Well-tailored pieces made from premium materials maintain their shape and appearance, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

Choosing classic staples over fast fashion saves time, money, and the frustration of constantly updating your wardrobe.

7. Find Shoes That Work for Your Lifestyle

Shoes can make or break your outfit and your comfort level. Stick with stylish sneakers, loafers, or low-heeled boots that provide support while still looking put together. A great pair of shoes can effortlessly take you from work to mom mode.

Versatile footwear ensures durability and long-term comfort. Neutral-toned shoes pair well with multiple outfits, making it easier to get dressed without overthinking. Prioritizing cushioned insoles and supportive designs helps you stay on your feet all day without discomfort.

Investing in high-quality shoes pays off in the long run. Well-made leather or suede options withstand daily wear, while water-resistant materials protect against unexpected weather. Stylish footwear allows you to move through your day quickly and confidently.

8. Dress for Confidence

Your wardrobe should reflect your personality and empower you to tackle your day confidently. It’s a structured blazer, a flattering dress, or a go-to pair of jeans. Choose pieces that make you feel strong, capable, and stylish.

Confidence starts with how you feel about what you wear. Thoughtful colour choices and quality materials can boost self-assurance and leave a lasting impression. Feeling good in your outfit naturally translates into a more positive and empowered presence in work and personal life.

9. Plan Outfits in Advance

Eliminate morning outfit stress by planning your looks the night before. Setting aside a few go-to outfits for different occasions ensures that you always have a polished and practical ensemble ready. Having a system in place makes getting dressed effortless.

Organize your wardrobe by category or colour, and keep staple pieces within easy reach. Pre-selecting accessories, shoes, and outerwear can save valuable time in the morning, allowing you to focus on your day ahead.

A well-planned wardrobe also reduces decision fatigue. By rotating a few versatile outfits, you maintain a consistent style without overthinking what to wear. This simple habit streamlines your routine and keeps you looking confident and put together every day.

10. Own Your Unique Personal Style

Fashion is about self-expression. You love bold colours, chic neutrals, or statement accessories, so let your wardrobe reflect your unique personality while fitting seamlessly into your daily routine.

Confidence is the key to making any outfit work. You naturally carry yourself with more assurance when you wear pieces that make you feel good. Adopt what makes your style distinct, whether it is a signature colour, a favourite silhouette, or a go-to accessory.

Owning your look allows you to feel comfortable and stylish in every situation.

11. Seasonal Versatility and Practical Style

Dressing for the season while maintaining a practical and stylish wardrobe is essential for mompreneurs. Lightweight fabrics like cotton and linen keep you cool in warmer months while layering with wool or cashmere ensures warmth during colder seasons.

Choosing season-appropriate clothing in neutral tones allows for easy mixing and matching, reducing the need for excessive shopping. Keeping a few transitional pieces, like a classic trench coat or stylish boots, helps you stay prepared for changing weather without sacrificing style.

12. Balance Trends with Timeless Pieces

Fashion trends change quickly, but a wardrobe built on timeless essentials keeps you looking polished and confident. Instead of chasing every new style, thoughtfully incorporate a few trendy pieces that complement your existing outfits.

Stylish accessories, statement shoes, and seasonal colours refresh a classic wardrobe of well-tailored blazers, quality denim, and elegant blouses. This approach allows you to stay fashionable without constantly updating your entire closet. Investing in well-made staples ensures longevity, making mixing and matching pieces year after year easier.

Thoughtful styling helps you maintain a polished look while embracing trends that suit your aesthetic.

Summing Up

As a mompreneur, your fashion choices should support your lifestyle, not complicate it. You can feel great while managing your busy schedule by focusing on comfort, versatility, and confidence. Prioritizing effortless yet stylish outfits allows you to transition seamlessly between work and family life. Investing in timeless wardrobe staples saves you time while keeping you polished and prepared.

Attiring in a way that makes you feel empowered helps you show up as your best self daily.

1. Create A Daily Routine

Creating a daily routine can work wonders for your stress levels. Babies thrive on consistency, and knowing what to expect can make your days feel more manageable. Try to establish regular times for feeding, napping, and bedtime. A predictable schedule can help you make out a bit of “me time” too. Remember, it’s okay to adjust the routine as needed, flexibility is key.

2. Sleep When the Baby Sleeps

You’ve probably heard this a million times, but it’s true, sleep when the baby sleeps, forget about the dishes and laundry for a while. Catching some sleep while your baby naps can help you recharge and tackle the next round of baby duties with a clearer mind. If napping isn’t your thing, use this time to relax with a book or enjoy a quiet cup of tea while watching a movie.

It’s okay to ask for and accept help. Whether it’s your partner, family members, or friends, let them come in to help if you need them. Maybe someone can watch the baby while you take a long shower or catch up on sleep. Don’t hesitate to delegate tasks like cooking, cleaning, or running errands. Taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of your baby. Make time for activities that bring you joy and relaxation. It could be a short walk, a hobby, or even just a few minutes of meditation. Self-care doesn’t have to be elaborate; small moments can make a big difference. 10 Time-Saving Hacks For Busy Moms.

Are you a mom struggling to save time from your busy schedule? Ha! I can feel your pain and how you manage to get things done with all that you plan to do and don’t get done easily.

Sometimes, as a mother, you have many activities to do during the day, week, or months that don’t get done.

You find yourself at a loss and you repeat the same thing over and over. You gradually end up not getting things done.

This is when frustration sets in and you pile up activities, leaving them unattended.

I think I know what will help you get your activities done on time and at the right time. At the end of the day, you’ll end up being a happy and successful mom. Saving a lot of time and also become less busy to have enough rest.

Here are 10 time-saving hacks that can help you as a busy mother.

1. Employ a nanny/babysitter:

Busy Moms.

Babysitters or nannies are better options for a busy mother. They help you release some of the burdens from you. Yes, it is true there are stories of bad babysitters or nannies, but mind you some of them are extremely good and well-behaved. They could also be your parents, siblings, and trusted friends or relatives.

They can help you cater to your children while you attend to whatever you’re supposed to do. They can also help you clean your home, help you cook, and also run errands for you.

Not necessarily to be in the house or stay with you forever, but they can stay for a short period while you attend to your activities. It helps save time, energy and makes you less busy.

2. Make a schedule list:

Busy Moms.

It is advisable that, as a busy mom, you make lists of your daily activities. Make sure you jot down whatever plan you have and follow it sequentially.

Having a scheduled list helps you know what to do on a particular day and time. It helps you keep your activities at a steady pace and makes you work smart, efficiently, and focused. It also saves time and energy.

When you make the list too, it reminds you of what to do at a particular time. You know, as a mom, it’s very easy to be forgetful. This is very time-draining. As you follow your activities on your scheduled list, you become less busy and have more time to do other things.

3. Set a goal:

Busy Moms.

What goal do you want to achieve in a day, and how do you intend achieving it? What is the purpose of this goal?

Setting a goal for your daily activities makes it easier. It helps you have a daily task to achieve with a purpose. Goal setting is also advisable for working mothers who do not know what to do at a particular time.

Aside, from making your schedule, have a goal in mind and make a conscious effort to achieve it. Doing that makes you focused and prevents you from wondering about other activities because you have a target to meet.

This goal can be set for just a day, weeks, or even months.

4. Work smart, not hard:

Busy Moms.

Working smart is different from working hard. Having equipment or accessories for work makes you work very smart.

For instance, instead of washing with your hands, you can use the washing machine. Instead of using the squeezer for your juice, you can use the juicer. And it goes on and on.

Ignoring all this equipment or machinery to do otherwise is time-draining and makes you “unnecessarily” busy.

It takes your time from doing other important things, hence spending the day without achieving any goal.

You can also involve your kids in your daily activities. Such as cleaning, helping to cook, washing, and doing other stuff as you also focus on others.

Know that preventing your children from helping you do the chores doesn’t guarantee a hardworking mother. It drains you and leaves you in an unhealthy state.

5. Use delivery services often:

Delivery services are available to make the purchase of items easy. It helps to save time for other activities. Buying items online and having them delivered to you is such a relief.

Making your item purchase online also helps you become less busy. Taking almost 45 minutes or an hour for shopping can be reduced when you do your shopping online and have it delivered to you.

A busy mom who doesn’t want to use the delivery service can have someone do the shopping for her. Like a relative, a friend, a working colleague, or even her husband can help.

6. Have a meal plan:

Busy Moms.

Knowing what to cook for the family helps a lot. Have a meal plan for each day of the week and ensure you follow it in order.

Ever had one of those days when you’re too tired to cook something for the family? And you go to the fridge and finally find something to put on the table? Yes, I believe that day was a happy one for you because you finally found what to eat.

Cooking in batches and preserving them in the fridge is also advisable for busy moms. When you know you’re going to be so busy during the week, just find a day and prepare a batch of food.

This is a life and time saver. It sustains you during the days that you don’t have the strength to do your cooking.

7. Plan ahead for family events:

Busy Moms.

Having a family event coming up and you’re not sure whether to be able to attend or not? Well, I suppose it’s advisable to have a plan ahead before the event.

Have a plan for this event and make all the preparations toward it. Such as preparing the outfits to wear on that day, booking an appointment for a beauty treat, what surprises/gifts you want to take to the event, and the departure and arrival times to the event.

Doing so makes things easier for you when the time for the event is near. You get refreshed, and look good and presentable at the event.

Keeping yourself busy during the day of the event will only make you look unkept and less presentable. It also makes you look tired.

8. Create a family calendar

The calendar is there for reminders and promptings of what to do. It helps us with dates of events and activities.

Creating a family calendar will help you as a busy mom by keeping track of what to do at every given point. Create events using Google Calendar; it allows you to specify the time and days the event or activities will take place.

This also improves your ability to work accordingly. It reminds you of what time of the month is. And what activities do you have to do for the family? Anniversaries, birthdays, vacations, outings, fun games and chores.

Google Calendar sets a reminder for all these events. And trust me, it is one of the best places to keep your family calendar.

9. Limit your screen time

Have you ever had the time to sit by the TV, phone, laptop, and video games for hours without having anything done throughout the day?

Screen time is a time drainer, it takes your time and makes you busy later. It prevents you from doing what you have to do at a particular time.

Close 4–5 moms sit and watch series and soap operas without completing their tasks for the day. It is very draining to have your phone on all day without being productive.

Have limitations on your screen time when there’s a task or an activity to attend to. Switch off all screens, TVs, phones, laptops, and video games to focus on whatever you have to do.

It also helps you to go to sleep early and wake up early for your daily morning chores. Limiting screen time and getting good sleep makes you healthy and strong.

10. Sleeping on time at night.

Everyone has 8–9 hours of bedtime, and it is good for the body to rest and have some strength for the following day.

Sleeping early helps moms gain more strength to be able to attend to their daily chores the following day.

Every mom is not supposed to burden or overwork herself. It’s okay to not finish your work on the same day. It’s okay to feel tired at times, and it’s okay to want to go to sleep early and get some rest.

Being overly busy does not make you a “superhero,” but rather depletes your energy and prevents you from getting some rest.

Sleep early, get some rest, and gain some strength for what lies ahead of you the following day. You need it because you’re also a human mom.

Conclusions

All moms are special and doing well in their own way. However, every mother requires some self-care time in order to appear strong and healthy for their family and home. Don’t overwork yourself and end up losing yourself as a mom.

I guess these 10 hacks will help you, as a mom, to save some time for yourself and not be too busy. The bottom line is, at the end of the day, just make sure you complet at least one or two task. That’s the most important thing to do.

Work smart, not hard. Work efficiently and not tediously. All the best, and have a wonderful Momful Day!

I followed my Dreams and Passion – Dorcas A. Yeboah Koranteng

My name is Dorcas Adwoa Yeboah Koranteng. I am a Milliner, Makeup Artist, Businesswoman, Mother and a Wife. My entrepreneurial journey started on 31st December, 2008 when I finally tended in my resignation as a banker in order to follow my dream and passion of being in the fashion and beauty business/industry because I realized I had no passion and love for the work I was doing; I had searched myself thoroughly and I knew what I wanted to pursue. Thus I got myself trained as a Milliner, Bead Jewellery maker and a Makeup Artist.

After my training, I practiced all three professions alongside each other whiles I also did buying and selling of some beauty products once in a while. Along the line, I decided to drop the beading because I realized my love for the others was more than the beading.

Working from home can be difficult, however, I’ve been able to draw a plan that keeps me in check so as to avoid my business from consuming all my time and also do well to execute my responsibilities as a mother and wife. I do well to make time to bond with my family as much as possible, as it is essential.

Like every entrepreneur I have faced the one major challenge which is the issue of friends and family who believe that the price of a product or service should be different from what they have to pay. Some actually think it should be free for them, because of the ties they have with you but by God’s grace I have been able to overcome it. It hasn’t been easy but I chose to stand firm and be stern on the situation.

What keeps me going as a mum in business is the relentless support I get from my family. However, being truthful to clients and staying time concious are the two major factors that have helped me stay in business.

Always deliver within the specific time frame toy promise to a client and if for some reasons you will be unable to deliver as promised do well to communicate it to the client. Always smile and respect your clients for they are the reason you’re in business.

Finding Hair products for my daughter birthed HairBureau- Sylvia Naa Djanie

We took away some great nuggets from this interview, especially with the part where our guest spoke about the importance of keeping virtual friends and the impact they could make in our business. Join us as we explore Sylvia’s journey as a Mom in Business in the past three years

1.Please tell us a little bit about yourself

My name is Sylvia Naa Djanie. I am a married woman with two kids ( A girl and a boy) and I am a banker by profession.

2.What inspired you to take this path in entrepreneurship?

In 2017 when I decided to have my daughter, I realized I had hair issues and my hair started falling out during my pregnancy stage .

I had to cut my hair at a point and start natural hair. Through this journey I met a lady by name Abena who exposed me to a lot of things about hair and I realized Good hair care is expensive and required a lot of time. I decided to joined an academy where I learnt a lot of things about hair.

I had my daughter and she came with a lot of hair ,but her hair started depleting along the line so I decided to get products for her hair to sustain and grow it. It was very difficult getting products for kids hair as most of the shops I walked into either told me they didnt have kids products and rather gave me products meant for older people as a substitute.

I also realized there was only one hair type product on the market for kids and most of these shops had little or no experience on how to care for the hair. I came back home and looked at what I could do, that was when I decided to start a simple hair care routine for my daughter which included a hair regimen. Guess what, In a few months I began to see growth in my daughters hair.

After I realized that only one haircare brand for kids was trending, I hit the internet to do more research online and find out if there were products for kids.

And guess what there were tons of products online for kids hair care. There are so many products for adult hair but we forget babies are being born everday and that market also needs a lot of attention.

In our age , parents are looking for products that can help them grow their kids hair but they do not come acrross them easily. With time I started helping my friends to grow their kids hair .

My husband drew my attention to the fact that I was spending a lot of time researching, enrolling for haircare courses and the passion with which I was using in whatever I was doing and encouraged me to consider taking it up as a business. That was when I decided to launch Hair Bureau , my business.

3.How are you able to manage the family and your business?

Trust me managing a family a business at the same time is not chicken change. I have cried a few times because I virtually have no sleep. I am in a financial institution so you can imagine, I am at work at 7am till 5pm then from 5pm mummy duties begins. That means if mummy wants to nurture her business she has to still set out sometime to pay attention to it and give it all the support it needs. I had to make time to undertake some classes onine to help me manage the finances of my business.

Also my husband has been of great support. There were days that we will sit down to draw plans on how we will market for the week and how to even come up with our logo. Overtime we have been able to identify a niche and this has made it easier for us to run the business.

My kids have also become a part of the business. They are able to tell their friends what castor oil is used for and tell their friends how castor oil is used to grow the hair. It hasn’t been easy but with time we realize we are getting there.

4.Share with us one challenge you faced in your business and how you overcame it

One major challenge I faced in my business was how to manage my finances.Trust me, anyone I told said that but you work at the bank? But I am a marketer, I am not an accountant. Managing the finances of a business and home was a big issue for me and for two years straight I never declared profit.

It was impossible to identify what I had sold even though I was buying more goods than on a regular day, I couldnt tell my profit from my seed money and it was difficult until my husband taught me some simple accounting techniques. Now I am able to tell how much I have sold in a week, how much profit I have made, and how much stock I have left. I am proud that now through my husband I have been able to get far in the business.

5.What keeps you going as a mom in business

What keeps me going is the fact that I love what I do and the feeling I get when I see the results that people send to me. I have clients all over the world. People ask me, How come you are able to get clients from all over the world and I tell them that people have not found human face to haircare especially when it comes to kids. And I have been able to provide that for the past three years and counting.

Through consultations and one-on-one sessions, people are now taking haircare very serious and I am changing the minds of parents when it comes to haircare one parent at a time. I believe through my services, people are begining to have confidence in their own natural hair and are able to wear it very well. I am trying to instill that love for our african natural hair in our young girls. African hair is resilient to growth.

I am also very happy when people to come to me and say thank you , you have been able to change my mind about my natural hair and this is what I am going with.

6.Share with us some tips that have helped you to succeed.

Tips on what helped me to succeed. There are three things I keep in mind;

1. Always make friends with successul people, I am not saying go bootlikcing people. You need to create acquaintances with successful people so you learn one or two things from them that you can add to what you already have and sell it back to them and they will help to also propagate your message to others. On this point I would like to commend a baby shop called BabyBliss. This lady literally took me from the ground and helped me up and helped me put structure to my business.

She and my husband believed in me more than anyone else and saw a light in Hairbureau and if I ever get to stand anywhere I will never ever forget Babybliss.

2. Always make friends even if they are virtual friends. Ever since I joined IG as a business I have realized that entrepreneurs in your field or those around you sell you out better than some of the marketing strategies we use. There is nothing as good as a fellow instagram or virtual friend that you’ve met.

Keep them, and everywhere you meet people try to keep in touch with one or two people, that is how your network will grow. There have been referrals from people even my mind cannot comprehend because I striked them as an acquaintances and then wowed them with the x-factor of my business . That has helped my business to succeed.

3. Never ever despise small beginnings, my profits were between GHS30-GHS50 initially and some people thought it wasn’t worth the stress . With time everything I sell hits right back into my bottom line. Never despise small beginnings or small monies. Make your noise, network and it will work for you.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

I am Charity Akpabey Ofosuhene, a Project Manager at an international export and business advisory company located in the USA, with an office in Ghana. My burden for this initiative grew during an avid search for a school, for my son. My husband and I had no other option, than to scout around for schools that fit our schedule, since we were both heavily involved in work at the bank and a business advisory company respectively. It was a long search with a lot of mistakes – as we could not adequately and satisfactorily run those errands, mainly due to time constraints. After several winding efforts, we eventually found one that fit our schedule and expectations, with the right academic portfolio, structure and space.

Balancing Motherhood with a Career- The Modern Day Superwoman.

Motherhood and work have increasingly become two facets of life many women have to juggle with whilst trying to keep every other area of their lives intact. The question however is can these two be effectively balanced so both can be handled successfully? Here are a few tips to make the most of both whilst making space for some “me” time.

Set some priorities

Work and taking care of your kids are both extremely important, but in order to carry both out efficiently you may have to draw up a list that will clearly outline what you have to do at what time. This will also help prevent you from neglecting whatever you have to do at any point in time. What are the two or three most important things you need to achieve per day? Focus on that as compared to trying to achieve so many things at once. Superwomen need to pace things out too! And remember…you do not have to do everything, so there may be some commitments you may eventually have to cut out to give you more time to focus on your priorities.

Find a routine that works

If work starts at say, 8am, it may be much better to start your day early enough for you to prepare the kids for school and carry out your morning activities without having to rush. Identifying a routine that works for you will help reduce the everyday clutter and will give you enough time to carry out each task. Don’t forget to try and get some sleep as early as you can the night before, so you can wake up bright and early the next day to start your routine again.

Let work be work and home be home

You could try as much as possible to do all your work in the office to reduce the amount of work you have to bring home. This will help set a clear demarcation between your work and home and will help you spend quality time with your family without too many distractions. This will also help you to be fully present mentally for your children when they are telling you all about their day at school and the homework they have to deal with.

Don’t worry if you work from home. This can still apply to you…just set a clear time and area for work, after which it’s time for only family.

Make every minute count

In our setting where traffic is very common, dropping the kids off at school could be another opportunity to interact and spend time with them (if they’re not asleep) before their day really starts. Though short, these few minutes could become very precious to your children as it eventually becomes that “Mummy and me” moment which makes them feel loved and shows you’re interested in their affairs.

Try and get some rest

Even if it’s for just an hour or 30 minutes, a little shut-eye never hurts! You could make use of the quiet time whilst your kids are napping, or find something that helps you relax during the weekend, so you can start the week fully refreshed. You can only be hundred percent efficient both as a mother and career-woman if you find time to rest.

We appreciate all the superwomen out there. Keep going, and don’t forget to consciously make some time to rejuvenate and get back up!

Five tips that helped me in my Transformation Journey – LearnWithGathy

We just had to share these golden nuggets from Our very own Gathy of Learn with Gathy as she shares some life changing moments in her career that transformed her journey. Take a break, relax and enjoy as you learn.

“In 2017 I took a huge bet on myself and decided to transform my life. I had read in books and heard that transformation is possible but now I have experienced it my self. My dear leader you can be anything you want to be, if you purpose in your heart to be. The old ” you “must die before the best “you” Can be born.

Let me share 5 tips that helped me in my transformation journey”: 📍
1.Don’t wait till you have ideal conditions to step up. Change is unleashed with a simple start.
2.Build a network of Positive minded people. You will need to change the people you associate with. The people you hang out with either influence you positively or negatively. Change your circles to people who tell you about your strengths & weaknesses and are willing to work with you to achieve your goals.
3.Adopt good habits, this was one difficult thing for me to do. I had to totally change the way I feel about myself and mostly my mindset. Your habits form your behavior and your behavior predicts the kind of life you have….choose some good habits; – read books – Have a daily routine – learn new things – travel if you can afford it – Eat healthy One of the good habits I adopted was getting up early & starting my day in the quiet of my room.
4.Commit to self development. Decide to improve yourself slowly but steadily. Be conscious of the person you want to be and continuously improve to become that person.
5.Go after your dreams and inspire others to do so.

A Mom’s World

Right from the day I came into her life, she knew her life had taken a whole new turn. As a new mom, she had to find ways of juggling her daily chores while seeing to the needs of her kid and husband. Creating her own kind of world as an unemployed mom was all she could think of.

Being inspired to create a balanced lifestyle, she decided to work from home, one that she could have both her mind and heart fully at home while pursuing her passion. Just like a proverbs 31 woman, she would rise at dawn, plan a schedule and see to it that daddy is set for work. With me in my cozy cradle, belly-filled, she would gather her straws and start knitting her hand-made shopping baskets. While looking on to me, she joyfully knitted. Breaking intermediately, she fed and put me to sleep then closely tick through her To-do list with so much fulfilment.

With the help of dad, she established an online business line where she showcased and sold her products. She would be the last to go to bed almost everyday after blogging her days activities with the aim of inspiring other moms worldwide. A day well spent with a healthy family and glowing business has been her deepest pride.

She is a mom with gifted hands, a beautiful soul, a loving heart, filled with divine wisdom and strong in all areas. She is a vessel of honor and her family couldn’t have asked for anything better.
